In short
- We use cookies to keep you signed in and safe, and two that remember where you came from.
- We use no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking.
1. Cookies EventWiz needs to work
- Signing in (named sb-…-auth-token): keeps you signed in. It ends a day after you last use EventWiz.
- Two-step sign-in (ew-2step-email, ew-2step-email-hint, ew-2step-email-chal): remembers that you entered the emailed code for this sign-in.
- Signing in with Google (ew_google_nonce, ew_google_app): a short-lived check while Google signs you in.
- Joining a team (ew_invite): remembers an invitation to join a venue or business while you create your account.
- Preview access (eventwiz_access): only on preview copies of EventWiz that are locked with a password; lasts 30 days.
2. Cookies that remember where you came from
These are not needed for EventWiz to work. They are our own, they are not shared with anyone, and they last 90 days.
- ew_venue: if you start planning from a venue’s link, which venue sent you, so your event can be connected to it.
- ew_from: if you tapped “Powered by EventWiz” on an invitation or event website, which kind of page you came from. It does not say who you are or which event it was.
3. Our own visit counts
We count which pages of EventWiz are opened and which steps are finished, with our own system; nothing is sent to an analytics company. Your browser keeps a random number (ew_aid) so repeat visits can be counted, and another for each visit (ew_sid). If you are signed in, the counts are linked to your account. We never count visits to invitations, RSVP pages or event websites.
Screen recording is off unless you turn it on, in Settings > Your data. Our Privacy Policy explains it.
4. Other things your browser keeps
EventWiz stores some preferences in your browser — for example, which event you were last working on and how you like a page laid out. They stay on your device.
5. Other services your browser may contact
- Some event website designs load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for them.
- Forms that must be filled in by a person use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser.
- Signing in with Google takes you to Google, and paying takes you to Stripe. Their own cookie and privacy terms apply there.
6. Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block the sign-in cookies you cannot sign in, but invitations, RSVP pages and event websites still work. Blocking browser storage stops our visit counts.
